Glossary of Terms

Bidder:  Any proposer, firm, partnership, corporation, association or joint venture seeking to be awarded an NES contract through the competitive process.

Request for Quotation (RFQ):  A request to the prospective vendor to submit a price and delivery date for a specific product or service.

Request for Proposal (RFP):  A written request providing a description of the project evaluation criteria, instructions to the bidder, and pricing requirements.

Purchase Order:  A standardized form sent to vendors that contains detailed specifications regarding quantity, price, etc. for specific goods or services.
