In-Home Energy Evaluation
NES, in partnership with TVA, offers the In-Home Energy Evaluation. Reduce your power usage and receive cash incentives and financing assistance for installing energy-efficiency upgrades.
Participants pay an up-front fee of $150 for the evaluation. If any recommended improvements are made over $150, the fee will be reimbursed. Plus, you will be reimbursed 50% of the installation cost up to $500.
- Sign up online or call 1-866-441-1430 to arrange for an In-Home Evaluation by a TVA-certified evaluator.
- The evaluator will inspect your home and create a report outlining the potential energy-efficiency modifications and available incentives and financing.
- Improvements must be made by a member of the Quality Contractor Network.
- All home improvements need to be completed within 90 days. The work will be inspected to ensure that everything is installed properly to maximize savings.
- You will receive a cash incentive after submitting your receipts for completed work.
- You can also receive financing assistance for eligible upgrades.

Financing Options
Weatherization financing is available through Energy Finance Solutions (EFS), subject to credit approval. The rate is 10-15% for up to 10 years. The minimum loan amount is $2,500.
Heat pump financing through the In-Home Evaluation program is available at a rate of 6-8% for up to 10 years. Participants can add other energy efficiency upgrades to the loan up to $20,000.
The following recommendations are not eligible for cash incentive or financing:
- Water heaters
- Storm doors
- Clothes washers and dryers
- Window film/solar screens
- Radiant barriers
- Refrigerators
- Dishwashers
- Room air conditioners
- Programmable thermostats
- Insulated garage doors
Note: To qualify for an In-Home Evaluation, you must own your property and the home must have had permanent electric service for at least one year.
